Life is too short for the wrong job

Emotionally intelligent advertisements, seen on the Little Chief Honeybee blog. The ads are for jobsintown.de, a German job site.

I think these ads are genius. My favourite is the one with the guy in the cigarette machine, he's just got that "I really want to make a sarcastic remark" look on his face.

But life is too short to be in the wrong job. Let's face it, a large portion of your life is going to be spent in the workplace, so you owe it to yourself to find a job that isn't going to make you profoundly miserable. There's no such thing as a perfect job and there will always be aspects that annoy you, but that doesn't mean that you should settle for something that just isn't right for you on any level. The graduate jobs market is tough but settling for misery is too much of a compromise.

There probably will always be jobs that weren't what you planned, but that doesn't mean that they won't teach you anything. Most jobs will need you to learn new skills and hone the ones you already have. Use these skills to keep chasing your dream job. No-one ever realised their dreams in a single day.

So true! I actually think you will never know if a job is 'wrong' or right for that matter until you get down and give it a try.

What I find silly is when people know they are in the 'wrong job and continue staying there because its comfortable and easy.

But thanks for the comment Nicola :) I really appreciate all the support.
